Liquidation and dissolution of EVRS e.V.
Resolved on 19 April 2026 at the Extraordinary General Assembly in Ulm. The association will be deleted from the register of Associations in Frankfurt am Main once the liquidation and the one-year liquidation period are complete.

Angesichts der zunehmenden internationalen Ausrichtung des European Vitreoretinal Society (EVRS) e.V. und der wachsenden Anzahl an Mitgliedern, die nicht nur außerhalb Deutschlands, sondern auch außerhalb der EU ansässig sind, kam der EVRS-Vorstand zu dem Schluss, dass der Sitz des Vereins in Deutschland sowie die Rechtsform eines im Vereinsregister eingetragenen Vereins den aktuellen Anforderungen nicht mehr gerecht werden.
In einer außerordentlichen Mitgliederversammlung am 19. April 2026 in Ulm haben die Mitglieder einstimmig den Beschluss zur Liquidation und Auflösung des Vereins gefasst. Nach Abschluss der Liquidation und Ablauf des Sperrjahres wird der Verein im Vereinsregister in Frankfurt am Main gelöscht werden.
In Großbritannien wurde gerade eine neue gemeinnützige Organisation gegründet (EVRS Global Ltd.), die die zuvor von EVRS in Deutschland durchgeführten gemeinnützigen Aktivitäten fortsetzen wird.

Given the European Vitreoretinal Society (EVRS) e.V.'s increasing international orientation and the growing number of members who reside not only outside Germany but also outside the EU the EVRS-Executive Board concluded that the association's seat and registration in Germany as well as its corporate legal form are no longer meeting its current requirements.
At an Extraordinary General Assembly held on 19 April 2026 in Ulm the members passed unanimously the decision to liquidate and dissolve the association. Once the liquidation has been completed and the one-year liquidation period has expired, the association will be deleted from the register of Associations in Frankfurt am Main.
A new charitable organization was founded in the UK (EVRS Global Ltd.), which is continuing the charitable activities previously carried out by EVRS located in Germany.
